11 July
2002
Two Way TV US, a provider of enhanced TV technology and services
for the North American television industry, has announced that it
has completed its merger with Interactive Network.
‘This is the culmination of our strategy to combine the world
leading technology of Two Way TV and the patent portfolio of Interactive
Network,’ says Robert J. Regan, president and COO Two Way
TV (US). ‘We believe the union creates an unparalleled North
American business with the intellectual property and experience
to take the lead in next-generation interactive entertainment.’
In a separate announcement, UPC Digital is launching Two Way TV
games as part of its interactive games service across its northern
European networks. A channel of Two Way TV branded games with an
on-screen magazine has gone live in Austria and the Netherlands
with other territories to follow.
UPC Digital viewers who push their interactive services button will
be able to go through to the games section and play Two Way TV games
such as ‘Deal With It’ and ’TacTiles’. ‘This
distribution deal with UPC Digital gives us an immediate presence
across Europe. It will also be the first time cable viewers in those
territories have had the chance to play our original brand of competitive
games which have already proven their universal appeal in other
markets,’ says Guy Templer, Two Way TV’s head of International
Sales and Business Development.
